Masseria Li Reni

The residence

500 years of history

Masseria · XVI century in Manduria, province of Taranto.

In the second half of the sixteenth century the Troiani family built its noble residence less than four kilometres from Manduria. In 1674 the masseria passed as a dowry to the Benedictine nuns of San Giovanni Battista di Castelnuovo, together with the two daughters of Dr Giacomo Antonio Troiani. Confiscated after Italian unification, it was bought at auction in 1866 by Sir James Lacaita and thirty years later by the Selvaggi. Since 2015 it has belonged to the Vespa family, who restored it to its former splendour. Guests stay in suites of various sizes, from the Torrino to pool suites with private patio, among pools, a secret garden and beaches a quarter of an hour away by car.
