The splendid travertine portal is an invitation to enter Palazzo Todeschini-Piccolomini, which stands out for having been the birthplace of Pope Pius III, nephew of the better known Enea Silvio Piccolomini (Pope Pius II), the Pontiff who gave the name to the enchanting Pienza.
Inside, three large suites with luxury bathrooms, a reception and a living / relaxing area created in the ancient cellars where a cave has been unearthed that seems to be ancient secret passage that led to the castle, today admirable through a glass floor. The decor has been realized with precious books of all kinds in honor of Pope Pius III who was a patron and a man of boundless culture. We also host the masterpieces of sarteanese goldsmith artist Mauro Fastelli, making Palazzo Pio III a true art exhibition.
Chiara, the owner, personally takes care of the "gourmet" sector. She's author of two books on the subject, published by Nardini Editore - Florence. Breakfast is always included, unless otherwise agreed, upon request we can arrange wine and food tastings, happy hours, dinners and kitchen classes. We offer traditional Tuscan cuisine, but we also take care of those suffering from allergies and intolerances as well as vegetarians and vegans.
