5 rooms, 400 years of history
Wirnica harbors an atmosphere that is difficult to describe and impossible to forget.
Overlooking the placid waters of Lake Garlate, it lies in a secluded corner that preserves the most authentic poetry of the Larian territory intact. It is a residence that does not impose itself with grandeur, but rather conquers through its intimate character, its layered history, and that sense of belonging to the landscape that seems to have existed forever.
Its origins date back to the 16th century, when these buildings housed a rectory and a small religious complex. Centuries later, the property became the residence of a family linked to silk production, an activity that profoundly marked the history of these lands.
Even today, within these ancient walls and spaces restored with sensitivity, one can perceive the legacy of that past, woven from work, culture, and traditions handed down through time.
What makes Wirnica different from any other dwelling is its privileged relationship with the landscape. The windows open onto the lake and the mountains that trace its horizon, creating a continuous dialogue between architecture and nature. Every view invites you to pause, and every perspective seems designed by an artist’s hand. It is no surprise that these lands have been associated, according to recent studies and evocative interpretations, with the landscapes that are said to have inspired Leonardo da Vinci.
The park surrounding the property extends like a secret garden, populated by mature trees, natural terraces, and quiet corners where time seems to lose its substance. At the heart of this scenery lies a panoramic pool with a unique history; born in the spaces once used for drying silk, it has been transformed into a place dedicated to wellness and contemplation.
Each of the five suites tells a different story. Ancient chapels, religious residences, and noble quarters have been reinterpreted with great respect, keeping the traces of the past alive. Stone, wood, antique furniture, and contemporary details coexist in natural balance, giving life to spaces that convey authenticity and character.
Wirnica is a residence that invites you to live slowly. Here, luxury takes the form of privacy, silence, and the freedom to observe the lake in the morning or listen to the wind in the trees at sunset. It is a place that preserves the privilege of discretion and offers its guests a deeply personal experience, far from any convention and close to the most authentic essence of travel.
