Villa Baldi Sassoli is located on the northern border of Bologna, 6 km far from the heart of the city.
The XVII century house of the marquess Baldi, now and since XVIII century owned by the Sassoli family, is peculiar for the great distinction between the very simple outside lines compared to the surprising richness of inside wall paintings.
At the ground floor paintings were made by Paltronieri (called Mirandolese), Bigari and Orlandi, with immaginary landscapes framed by golden masks, leaves and grapes typical of Bologna artists.
