Fortino Napoleonico

The venue

200 years of history

Castle · XIX century in Portonovo, province of Ancona.

Since 1811 the Fortino Napoleonico has watched over the bay of Portonovo, at the foot of Monte Conero, a few metres from the white pebble beach. Close by stand the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, from 1034, and the Due Sorelle rocks. Built as a military fortress in the Napoleonic era, it keeps its thick white stone walls and a bastion facing the sea. The reception can move from the panoramic terrace to the Sala dei Marescialli, from the bastion to the seaside garden and down to the private beach, with the cooking of the in-house restaurant and up to 200 guests. Family and friends can stay in the fort's thirty rooms.
