Villa Monastero in the old times was a roman site, then a convent of the SS. Faustino e Giovita nuns’ order, who escaped the dramatic fire of Comacina island in 1169;after that , in the XVIII century, it became residence of the Cardinal Earl Angelo Maria Durini and of his nephew Giacomo Durini. For centuries, laying between the water and the hills of Campo di Lenno, the Villa has been the centre of the social and economic life of the borough. After those memorable facts of the local history it finally opens its large park and its hospitable structures to those who, protected by the walls of this secluded exclusive dwelling, want to share with their guests privileged meeting occasions: wedding receptions, gala dinners, business meetings, high class events. The charming atmosphere of this place makes Villa Monastero the ideal set for photo shooting, filming and fashion shows. [show more...]
